Rødvig Slaked Lime Mortar K 100/750

Product Description

Rødvig Slaked Lime Mortar K 100/750 is a ready-manufactured wet mortar, which only has to be mixed with a suitable amount of water for about 5-10 min. before use. It consists of 1 part Rødvig Slaked Lime and 3 parts Kronhøj Mortar Sand, grain size (0,0-0,3), (0-1,0), (0-2,0) or (0-5,0).

Field of Application

Rødvig slaked lime mortar is a hydrated lime, which has a lower compressive strength than lime mortars. In return it has a high tensile strength. This makes it suitable for all common bricklayer procedures for renovation, where it is essential that the mortar cooperate with the house. If a mortar has an excessively strong compressive strength, then it may cause damage to the house. Rødvig slaked lime mortar is suitable for bricklaying, jointing and plastering.

Packaging

Rødvig slaked lime mortar K 100/750 is stored and sold in 25-litre plastic bags. For large projects, we can deliver in Big Bags or silo. For further information, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Guidance

Mixing

Before use, Rødvig slaked lime mortar must be activated in a compulsory mixing machine or a whisk on a drilling machine with a suitable amount of water, for approx. 5-10 minutes.

We can also absolutely recommend that the mortars are mixed according to weight and on site, because we think it is important that builders and masons are familiar with the different mixing methods and are also familiar with the raw products used in the mortars they work with. If the Rødvig slaked lime mortar is mixed with the Rødvig jurassic mortar Kh 100/400, it should be mixed for approx. 20 minutes.

A mixture of these two products can be used to manufacture these hydraulic mixed mortars:

Such a 2-component mixing method is particularly relevant when working with coloured mortars. Since the pigment has to be dissolved in water in order to achieve a uniform color, it's only the wet slaked lime mortar that can be delivered as a coloured mortar. It can then be mixed with the dry jurassic mortar component when preparing the mortar on the construction site.

It is a good idea to mix the mortar a few weeks before use. This will make the Rødvig slaked lime mortar more coherent.

Execution

The underlying surface must be thoroughly cleaned. Loose particles and plaster flakes must be removed. To achieve the best adhesion when plastering and the like, the surface has to be rough and absorbent. Watering down the base is usually necessary when plastering.

Limitations of Use

Freezing point depressants or other additives should not be added. Once the mortar is mixed, you should no longer add binders, aggregates or water. You should only work with the mortar when the temperature is above +5° and below +25°. If the mortar is used as a plastering mortar, the thickness of the layer should not exceed 2-3 times the maximum grain size per workflow. If the thickness of the layer is coming out too thick, there is a risk of cracking.

Storage

Stored in a plastic bag, which is sealed so that the mortar is kept humid. It should also be stored frost-free.
